Michael Thompson, Joel Dahlheimer, and Roger Thalman. Also present were Gregg Raisanen, Clerk and Mona Billmark,
Treasurer. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order
by Chairman Thalman at 7:30 PM.

Joint Zoning Board. Motion carried

a motion to approve the minutes of the November 21, 2005 regular board meeting
as written. Motion unanimously.
Thompson, seconded by
Dahlheimer, made a motion to authorize payment of the bills in the amount of
$22,649.86 and to transfer 22,000.00 from the savings into the checking
account. Motion carried unanimously.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Engineer Kuhn reported that Clerk Raisanen
and him met with Gene and Shelly Karnis regarding the Wilderness Ridge
Stormwater retention pond. They were
unwilling to pay for ½ of the construction costs estimated to be approximately
$10,000.00 to clean out and rebuild the pond.
Mr. Karnis was going to contact other contractors to obtain other quotes
for the work.
Chairman Thalman reported that
the conditions outlined by Engineer Kuhn for the Rosewood Estates development
have been met and a building permit has been issued for construction of homes
in this development.
OLD BUSINESS: Ross, seconded by Thompson, made a motion to
contract with Chris Mitchell Accounting to complete the 2005 financial audit in
the amount of $3,200.00. Motion carried
unanimously. Motion carried
unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: Clerk Raisanen reported that he had received
a quote for salt/sand from Alden Just Road Maintenance in amount of
$22.50/yd. He also reported that
Douglas County Public Works is selling salt/sand to public entities for $18.50/yd.;
however, it is not available to private contractors. Thompson, seconded by Dahlheimer, made a motion to buy salt/sand
from Alden Just Road Maintenance for the amount of $22.50/yd. Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Thalman reported that
the Joint Zoning Board reviewed the realigning of a lot near the LeHommeDieu
Swimming Beach and had no objection to the application. They also passed an interim moratorium on
the installation of large signs within the joint zoning jurisdiction.
Curt Stoeckel was present to
discuss the application for a variance splitting a non-conforming lot by Greg
Westgaard for his property located on Lake Jessie. Both Chairman Thalman and Supervisor Ross expressed concern about
recommending approval since no hardship has been demonstrated. Mr. Stoeckel inquired if the township would
oppose a PUD for this land. The board
indicated that if the application met the county requirements there probably
would not be any objection to the request; however, it would be reviewed after
the application was filed with the county.
Being no further business Ross, seconded by Thompson, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:30PM.
Respectfully
Submitted.....
