Minutes of the meeting of 5-23-2005

An organizational meeting of the Planning Commission of Alexandria Township was held on the 23^rd Day of May 2005.

ROLL CALL: Commission members present were Russ Niskanen, Larry Steidl, Bryon Alstead, and Julie Feuling. Also present was Gregg Raisanen, Township Clerk and Attorney Kristen Carr. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Clerk Raisanen at 7:30 PM.

Clerk Raisanen administered the oath of office to the new planning commission members.

Clerk Raisanen described the duties of the Planning Commission. He outlined the current duties and future responsibilities. The commission reviewed the procedural relationship with Douglas County for the processing of preliminary plats if an interim ordinance passes the Board of Supervisors.

The commission reviewed resolutions and discussed conflict of interest situations. Clerk Raisanen describe that the township’s insurance would cover any future liability in the event of a lawsuit arising from any decisions that the commission and board made.

Feuling, seconded by Alstead, made a motion to designate the 4^th Monday of the month at 7:00 PM as the dates and time for future meetings. Motion carried unanimously.

The Commission delayed the appointment of a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson until the next meeting.

Being no further business Alstead, seconded by Niskanen, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
