Minutes of the meeting of April 25, 2011

A regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Alexandria Township was held on the 25^th day of April, 2011 at the Alexandria Township Conference Room, 610 Fillmore Street.

Roll Call: Commission members present were Russ Niskanen, Larry Steidl and Lyle Hammerschmidt. Also present were Bonnie Fulghum, Deputy Clerk, and Ben Oleson, Township Zoning Administrator. As said members formed a quorum and the meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Niskanen at 6:00 p.m.

Agenda: Hammerschmidt, seconded by Steidl, made a motion to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Minutes: Hammerschmidt, seconded by Steidl, made a motion to approve the minutes of the 03/28/2011 meeting as written. Motion carried unanimously.

New Business: Zoning Administrator Oleson conducted a training session entitled, “Balancing Property Rights with Land Use Regulations”. The training video covered the following topics: property rights, goals and tools of zoning, items that can be regulated and/or restricted, implementation of zoning, constitutional and statutory limits.

Zoning Administrator’s Report: None

Adjournment: Being no further business Steidl, seconded by Hammerschmidt, made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
